Trends are always coming and going. That’s the thing that makes the fashion world go round. It’s what keeps stores open and keeps people buying. What’s cool this month? Is it going to be popular next month? While I will always encourage you to keep an eye open on what people are wearing around you, never let that dictate what you HAVE to be wearing at the moment. This leads me to a trend that we started seeing late last year. Fringe popped up on runway after runway, and shortly after we were immediately seeing it on the streets. Handbags were trimmed with fine strips of leather, and skirts all of a sudden started shaking with every step. It popped up in every store you walked into. You couldn’t escape it!
Well now that it’s a season later, should we still be wearing it or should we have stepped into the latest trend? You know, I don’t think so. The wonderful thing about fashion is the ability to take trends from years past and make them relevant again. So with this I challenged myself to keep the fringe trend going and make it relevant for the time of the year.
The Zara fringe skirt in black is super fun and chic at the same time. I paired it with a cropped tank top to draw your attention downward and keep the fringes moving while you walk. A bright pop of red in the blazer will make you pop and all eyes will be on you. Simple black accessories and a gold choker complete the look!
